Medical Detox
If you anticipate a difficult withdrawal or are already suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms, you should undergo a medical detox before you arrive at Prana Bali. 

Nutritional Detox:
Combination of whole foods, Ayurvedic dishes, and a detoxifying cleanse.  Cleanse options vary from client to client depending on the level of detoxification necessary, but our cleanses are primarily based on Ayurvedic principles.

Emotional Detox
As part of your one-on-one treatment plan, we’ll help you zero in on any specific compulsive behaviors or issues you may have that are causing you additional distress.  Once we’ve identified these, we’ll look for the root cause so that we can begin working through them.

There are many different meditation styles out there, and we’re very fortunate to have some true masters living and practicing right here in Ubud.  We’ll help you find a meditation practice that best suits you based on your goals, wants, and needs.


Ayurveda: Ayurveda is a system of traditional medicine native to India which incorporates a range of treatments and herbal remedies.

Pranayama:  dating back to ancient India and the origins of yoga, Pranayama consists of breathing exercises that clear both physical and emotional blockages in the body to free the breath in order for Prana, or “life energy”, to flow.

Acupuncture:  a key component to traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture works on the body’s meridians in order to clear energy blocks and make way for the normal flow of qi

Naturopathy:  a complete system of natural healthcare based on the principle that the body can heal itself, naturopathy consists of nutritional supplements, individual dietary recommendations, and specific exercises.

Holotropic Breathwork:  breathing is a natural function of the human body, necessary for survival, but it’s amazing what can be accomplished when we learn to control the breath. 

Yoga therapy:  yoga therapy is a group of spiritual, physical, and mental disciplines originating in ancient India that utilizes poses, breathing techniques, and meditation to restore balance and improve overall health.

Craniosacral Therapy:  founded by osteopath, John Upledger, Craniosacral Therapy is designed to relieve pain and tension through gentle movements of the skull, joints, and spine.  These movements or manipulations are meant to harmonize with the nervous system’s natural rhythms.

Myofascial Release:  this practice focuses on the release of the fascia, or the connective tissue in the body where we’re said to store trauma and other stagnant energy.  This safe and effective hands-on technique can help eliminate pain, tension, and restore motion in the body.

Pencak Silat (Balinese Qigong):  Pencak Silat is an ancient practice that originated in Taoist and Buddhist monasteries in China.  Originally a fusion of martial arts and meditation, Qigong has become known as a technique that centers the body and mind.

Tri Hita Karana:
Tri Hita Karana literally translates into “the three causes of well-being.”  It’s the traditional philosophy for life among the Balinese, meant to bring about harmonious relationships and also credited for the island’s overall prosperity.  The island-wide concept ties together our relationship to a God of our understanding, our surroundings, and to humanity.

At Prana Bali, we adhere strongly to the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, not only out of respect for the local culture, but because we’ve been personally influenced by this transformative concept.  Maintaining a state of balance between God, Mother Earth, and all individuals has enabled the island of Bali to thrive, and the locals are some of the happiest, most balanced individuals we’ve ever met.  We’ve learned a lot from the Balinese, and this simple principle provides yet another great foundation for growth and recovery.

Bali has all of the comforts of the modern world as well, including medical care, an international airport, and readily accessible internet.  To top it off, Ubud is a mecca for health conscious expats and travelers.  The town offers an array of natural and organic food choices, including vegan cafes, juice and elixir bars, and raw food restaurants.  Traditional Balinese and standard Indonesian fare are also rich with exotic flavors and spices, and absolutely worth trying if you’ve never had them before.  You’ll find there’s no shortage of food variety on the island and most local establishments place a high value on quality, particularly in Ubud.
